‘Hundreds of videos’: Gujarat painter raped four girls, recorded act, say cops | Ahmedabad News – Times of India

AHMEDABAD: Nearly a fortnight after a 54-year-old man was arrested over allegations of sexual harassment of four girls aged between 8 and 11, investigations have revealed that the accused had raped them all and also recorded the act on his phone.
Vaso police of Kheda had arrested Chandrakant Patel on Oct 13 after parents of one of the girls approached police.
According to Kheda police officers, Patel, a painter from Nadiad, who lives alone, lured the girls with money, chocolates and biscuits. “When they came to meet him alone at his house, he raped them and also shot the act on his cellphone. We found hundreds of obscene videos on his cellphone, which has been sent for forensic analysis,” said a police officer.
Cops said that Patel may have placed the cellphone at a particular place for recording his acts of sexual violence.
Kheda SP Rajesh Gadhia said that it has been confirmed that he raped all four girls. Their parents approached police under the Protection of Children Against Sexual Offences Act (Posco). “The girls were brutalised and raped by Patel, who was sent to judicial custody. Further action will be taken based on the forensic report,” said Gadhia.
The case came light to after the parents of one of the girls approached police. Police said the girl had not been keeping well for some days. When her parents enquired about it, she told them that Patel had sexually assaulted her.
Later, parents of other girls also approached police. Cops are also investigating if Patel has molested or raped any more girls.
