IDF airstrike targets Hezbollah buildings in southern Lebanon; five members killed – Times of India

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) confirmed conducting an airstrike in Maifadoun, southern Lebanon on Tuesday, targeting a building allegedly used by the militant group Hezbollah. According to the IDF, the structure was associated with Hezbollah’s so-called southern Front unit, the group’s regional command in the area.
Lebanese security sources, cited by AFP, reported that five Hezbollah members were killed in the strike. The IDF claims that the targeted building housed members of the terrorist organization’s southern Front unit, who were actively involved in promoting anti-Israel propaganda.
In a coordinated operation, the IDF also targeted another building in Khiam, which was similarly used by Hezbollah. The airstrikes were carried out under the intelligence guidance of Shin Bet, Israel’s internal security service, and the military.
An IDF X post loosely translated read: “Fighter jets of the Air Force attacked a short time ago under the intelligence guidance of the Shin Bet and Amman, a military structure that was used by the southern Front unit of the terrorist organization Hezbollah, in the Nabatia area in southern Lebanon. A number of terrorists operated in the building who promoted terrorist slogans against the State of Israel.”

The IDF has not disclosed further details, and Hezbollah has yet to officially respond to the incident.
