It has already been confirmed that CM Punk will serve as a special guest referee in the upcoming NXT title match between Ethan Page and Trick Williams. The title match will mark the shift in the brand from USA Network to CW. While Punk’s announcement of appearing as a special guest referee made headlines and excitement among fans, The Best in the World has recently made another surprising appearance on the September 24 episode of NXT.Punk clarified that he would ensure a fair fight in the match.

CM Punk guarantees a fair fight in the upcoming NXT title match

CM Punk is all set to serve as a special guest referee in the upcoming match between Ethan Page and Trick Williams with the NXT Championship on the line. The WWE superstar appeared in a recent episode of NXT. In the backstage, he was talking with Je’Von Evans and was approached by Williams. While the challenger was trying to ensure a fair fight, Punk made it clear that no one would be able to cheat on his watch.

“I know he (Ethan Page) is gonna try to cheat. That’s why I’m the special guest referee. I’m not letting him cheat, I’m not letting you cheat – I’m not saying you’re gonna, that’s not your style, I know that – but I’m in the ring to make sure the best man to lead NXT into the CW future wins the match,” Punk said.

He went on to add, “We know that could be you, you’ve done it before. I kind of hope it is you, but I’m not gonna lean that way. There will be no favors given. At the end of the night, if you’re not that guy, and it’s Ethan Page, I’ll be raising his hand. I’m not gonna play favorites, man. May the best man win.”
NXT will move to CW from the USA network on October 1 which will be celebrated with the NXT Championship title currently held by Page. The Black and Gold brand’s CW premiere episode will take place in Chicago, Illinois. Alongside the headline match, Giuila will challenge Roxanne Perez for the NXT Women’s title and a Street Fight will be another action-packed match between heated rivals Wes Lee and Zachary Wentz.
