India pacer reprimanded by ICC for aggressive gesture toward Pakistan player in T20 World Cup

Indian bowler Arundhati Reddy has been reprimanded by the International Cricket Council (ICC) for her aggressive gesture during a match between India and Pakistan in the Women’s T20 World Cup 2024 on Sunday. The incident took place in the first innings of the game when the Pakistan team was batting. Reddy gestured toward Pakistan batter Nida Dar after dismissing her for 28 off 34 balls.

“She was found to violate Article 2.5 of the ICC Code of Conduct for Players and Player Support Personnel, which relates to “using language, actions or gestures which disparage or which could provoke an aggressive reaction from a batter upon his/her dismissal during an International Match,” the ICC statement read.
