This came after Ukraine said that its forces had made significant advances into Russia’s Kursk region, marking the largest foreign incursion into Russia since World War II.
Russia’s defense ministry reported that overnight, 117 Ukrainian drones were intercepted and shot down within its territory, primarily in the Kursk, Voronezh, Belgorod, and Nizhny Novgorod regions.
The ministry also said that missiles had been downed and released footage of Sukhoi Su-34 bombers targeting Ukrainian positions in the Kursk region.
Later, the ministry reported that Russian forces had successfully repelled a series of Ukrainian attacks in the Kursk region, including near Russkoye Porechnoye, located 18 km (11 miles) from the border. Pro-Russian war bloggers indicated that the frontlines have stabilized.
