NEW DELHI: Shiv Sena (UBT)leader Uddhav Thackeray said on Friday that Prime Minister Narendra Modi should address Parliament regarding India’s measures to safeguard Hindus in Bangladesh.
During a press conference in Mumbai, Thackeray criticised the BJP, asserting that their ‘Hindutva stance’ serves only electoral purposes.
Addressing the situation in Bangladesh, he highlighted the ongoing vandalism of temples, with the Hindu minority community experiencing violent confrontations recently. Then, he questioned the safety of Hindus in Bangladesh, whilst the former ousted PM Sheikh Hasina found refuge in India.
“PM Modi should inform Parliament about steps India is taking to protect Hindus in Bangladesh,” Thackeray stated, noting that Parliament is in its winter session. He further remarked that if the Prime Minister could intervene in the Russia-Ukraine conflict, he should similarly address the persecution of Hindus in Bangladesh.
