Investor misses Bengaluru flight, blames Google Maps for the ‘error’ | – Times of India

Investor Ashish Kacholia took to social media platform X (formerly Twitter) to blame Google Maps for causing him to miss his flight from Bengaluru to Mumbai. In his post, Kacholia, who is also a co-founder of Hungama Digital, complained that Google Maps failed to accurately estimate the travel time to the airport.
He had to travel from Bengaluru’s HSR Layout to Kempegowda International Airport (KIA), a distance of over 50 kilometres.According to Kacholia, Google Maps estimated the journey would take 1 hour and 45 minutes, but it took 3 hours for him to reach the airport.
Later on, in a comment, he also mentioned that rain during the trip further complicated the journey, and Google Maps’ incorrect timing led to him missing his flight. He also compared the infrastructure of Bengaluru and Mumbai, praising Mumbai for its ability to keep traffic moving.
Take a look at his post here:

What users said about Bengaluru’s traffic

One user on X compared Google Maps’ performance in Gurugram, where it works accurately, to Bengaluru, where it often provides incorrect estimated arrival times.
“I think Bangalore is the only place where you can’t rely on the travel time shown on Google Maps. Rarely happened in Gurgaon. (Even though I used to commute Gurgaon to Delhi every day),” X user Sanjay Singh wrote.
Another user advised to keep some time in hand while travelling to Bengaluru airport and also noted how traffic is killing productivity.
“Aim to reach the airport 2 hours before take-off time at Bangalore. Add another 30 mins if the travel slot is in the peak hour. Commute is the biggest productivity killer in this great city,” another X user wrote.
A third user also complained about Bengaluru’s infrastructure saying: “Bangalore turns pathetic specifically during rain due to water logging. Infrastructure needs a vast improvement compared to the stature it holds.”
