Seth Abramson, who has spent the past two years tracking Musk’s every move online, dropped a bombshell Monday, speculating that Musk might be “going mad” due to a combination of stress, past mental health struggles, and his admitted heavy drug use, reported the Daily Beast.
“I legitimately believe Elon Musk may be going mad,” Abramson posted on X (formerly Twitter), adding that Musk’s mental state might have serious global consequences. “His private struggles would not be of general concern except they have dramatic public consequences.” With his influence across multiple industries, including space exploration, electric vehicles, and social media, Abramson argues that Musk’s increasing volatility could endanger the world.

The 48-year-old biographer’s warning comes amid Musk’s recent social media blitz about British politics, which has raised eyebrows across the pond. According to a tracking site, Musk has been averaging 62 posts per day over the past week. His nonstop posting frenzy and his increasingly close association with Donald Trump have also caused ripples within the MAGA world, sources say.
Just after the election, Musk reportedly had a “massive blow-up” with a Trump aide over leaks about Trump’s cabinet picks. More recently, The New York Times journalist Maggie Haberman revealed on a podcast that Trump himself has complained to others about Musk’s “constant presence” in his orbit. However, publicly, Trump has embraced Musk as his “First Buddy,” especially after the tech mogul reportedly injected at least $250 million into Trump’s campaign.
Musk’s reach isn’t confined to the US His influence stretches across Europe, with the billionaire endorsing Germany’s far-right Alternative for Germany party ahead of a recent snap election and now waging a campaign to challenge the British government. The biographer’s warning suggests that with Musk’s increased power and influence, the U.S. government should take “urgent action” in the final weeks of the Biden administration to mitigate potential harm once Trump takes office.
Abramson proposes measures like terminating US government contracts with Musk, filing lawsuits to block his “Department of Government Efficiency” initiative, and launching federal investigations into his dealings. “If no action is taken—and I suspect no action will be taken—what this man in his burgeoning madness does to America as POTUS in the coming years will be on the heads of not just him and those who support or enable him, but those who ignored urgent, informed warnings like this one,” he concluded.
