Inter Miami coach Tata Martino made a huge statement about Lionel Messi’s return from the injury

Manager Tata Martino from Inter Miami has underlined that the squad would not take any “risk” with Lionel Messi, their injured captain. On Sunday, July 14, Argentina’s 2024 Copa America final triumph against Colombia in Miami left the 37-year-old with a swollen ankle.

Messi started the game for the current champions but had to leave the field midway through the second half as it went into extra time. Assisted by Giovani Lo Celso, Inter Milan forward Lautaro Martinez scored the winning goal 22 minutes into extra time, allowing La Albiceleste to keep their continental crown despite his absence.

Lionel Messi first was supposed to miss two Inter Miami games against Toronto on July 17 and Chicago on July 20.
