NAGPUR: A handwritten note with the word ‘Blast’ scribbled on a piece of toilet paper and stuck on the commode seat triggered the panic button in an Indigo Airlines flight en route from Jabalpur to Hyderabad, leading to an emergency landing at the Nagpur airport on Sunday morning.

The aircraft, carrying 69 passengers and four crew members, was promptly diverted to the Nagpur airport shortly after the discovery.
According to airport sources, the air traffic control (ATC) tower conveyed a message to the station operational compliance check (SOCC) at the airport, indicating that flight no. 6E-48PQ was being diverted to Nagpur due to a bomb threat found in the lavatory. The message was communicated at approximately 9 am, said sources, and the entire airport security apparatus was swiftly mobilised to confront any potential exigency.
All the emergency services, including the fire tender, ambulance, and a quick reaction team of the central industrial security force (CISF), were positioned. The aircraft touched down by 9.20 am, and all passengers were evacuated. Sources revealed that their handbags were being examined as other investigations continued.
