JAIPUR: Two more persons who sustained critical burn injuries in last Friday’s tanker fire incident in Jaipur have succumbed to injuries during treatment at SMS Hospital on Wednesday, raising the death toll to 17.
Sixteen others are still receiving treatment.
SMS Hospital’s superintendent, Sushil Bhati, confirmed that two individuals, a male and a female patient, died on Wednesday morning.
“With two more deaths, a total of 17 persons have died so far,” Bhati said.
“The medical status of three victims remains serious,” Bhati added.
The catastrophic collision between an LPG tanker and a truck occurred on December 20, resulting in a devastating fire that engulfed a section of the Jaipur-Ajmer highway.
The tragic incident claimed eleven lives on the same day.
