The video of President Joe Biden and First Lady Jill Biden entering the Kennedy Center Honors to a standing ovation went viral as Vice President Kamala Harris was also standing there clapping for the couple but the Bidens did not even look at her and her husband Doug Emhoff. All four of them even posed for a photograph but only cheering to the gallery — not even looking at each other or exchanging any nicety or any pretence of that.
“Joe Biden and Dr. Jill are refusing to even GLANCE at Kamala Harris tonight. They freaking hate her,” a social media user commented as the coldness between them is not lost on anyone.
“Jill Biden arrives for the Kennedy Center Honors and doesn’t even look at Kamala seated right next to her and Joe. She really despises her,” another wrote.
“Can you blame them. Best case scenario she (Kamala Harris) convinced him she would win, worst case they ousted him so she could run. Either way they probably feel robbed,” another wrote.
The speculations of the cold war have been doing the rounds since Joe Biden opted out of the presidential race in favor of Kamala Harris under the pressure of the party veterans despite believing that he was the only Democrat candidate who could defeat Donald Trump.
On several occasions, Biden seemed like hijacking the spotlight from Kamala Harris during the campaign and a lot of blame for Kamala Harris’ defeat is on Biden as Kamala Harris campaign said they got shorter time against Donald Trump. Distancing from Biden’s policies was also a challenge Kamala Harris’ team had to cope as Kamala Harris has been part of the administration.
It was even speculated that the Bidens voted for Donald Trump and Joe Biden looked enthusiastic and lively during his customary meeting with Donald Trump in the White House. The Bidens were not present at Howard when Kamala Harris gave her concessional speech and the rift could not be any more conspicuous.
