NEW DELHI: A 52-year-old lawyer, is tackling her most challenging case in a 25-year career. The Sealdah court has appointed Kabita Sarkar to defend Sanjoy Roy, the accused in the RG Kar rape-murder case as no other lawyer was willing to take it.

Accused Sanjay Roy a ‘sexual pervert with animal instinct’
The CBI’s psychoanalytic profile of Sanjay Roy, the sole suspect arrested in the RG Kar Medical College rape-murder case, describes him as a sexual pervert with animal instincts.
The psychoanalysts who interviewed the 31-year-old found him emotionally detached as he recounted his version of events at the crime scene.
They also reviewed his statements and compared them with postmortem and forensic results.
While the CBI confirmed that Roy’s presence at the crime scene was supported by technical and scientific evidence, they have not yet disclosed the results of the DNA tests.
