Among the heartfelt messages was a special post from former India all-rounder and 2011 World Cup hero Yuvraj Singh, who affectionately called Shubman “Gill Sahab.”
Yuvraj, who played a key role in Shubman’s early career, wrote: “Wishing a Happy Birthday to our very own #GillSahab.Really proud of the journey you’re on – stay focused, work hard and enjoy the ride! Have a lovely year ahead. P.S. love the dance, steps in the end.”
Shubman is currently leading India A in the Duleep Trophy.
After the Duleep Trophy, Shubman, who has played 25 Tests, 47 ODIs, and 21 T20Is in his career so far, will be seen in action in the two-match Test series against Bangladesh.
The first Test match between India and Bangladesh is scheduled to start on September 19 at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai, followed by the second Test at the Green Park Stadium in Kanpur from September 27.
