Madhya Pradesh horror: 'Was forced to drink alcohol, raped on footpath'; police hunt for man who shot video in Ujjain

UJJAIN/INDORE: As the state reels in shock from the public rape in Ujjain, police are looking for the man who filmed the sexual assault and posted it on social media.
The cyber cell has been roped in to track down the source of the video.
The woman, a middle-aged ragpicker, was forced to drink alcohol and then raped on a footpath in Koyla Phatak area, one of the busiest intersections in Ujjain, on Wednesday afternoon.
Someone took a video from behind a row of metal sheets, which went viral on Thursday, sparking outrage and leading to police action.
Once the shocking footage showed up on social media on Thursday night, police traced the survivor, a ragpicker, and took her for medical tests.
A case was registered and the accused was arrested. He was later presented in court from where he was sent in 14-day judicial custody.
Strangely, the site where the crime occurred on Wednesday has not been secured by the authorities.
On Thursday evening, following the incident, vendors selling Ganesh idols set up their shops at the scene.
CSP Kotwali OP Mishra said that since all the necessary legal action was taken and the accused was sent to jail as per judicial directives, it was not important to secure the crime scene.
The police are now focused on arresting the individual responsible for spreading the video.
