Post the Clasico defeat, a lot of question marks surround Mbappe over the striker’s fit with the team. Real Madrid and France legend and Ballon d’Or winner in 2022, Karim Benzema has highlighted the biggest problem behind Kylian Mbappe’s slow start to life in the Spanish capital.
Karim Benzema highlights Mbappe’s biggest Problem
Despite scoring eight goals and providing two assists in 14 matches for Real Madrid, Kylian Mbappe hasn’t impressed many until now in the Royal White shirt.
Kylian Mbappe’s former teammate and Real Madrid legend Karim Benzema has highlighted that the biggest problem the French striker is facing at Real Madrid is Vinicius Jr.
According to Benzema, Mbappe is not a number 9 but is a left winger. But that spot is occupied by Vinicius Jr at Real Madrid, hence Kylian Mbappe has to adapt.
“Mbappe is not a 9. He has to put it in his head that he has to play at 9. Vinicius is the best player in the world right now and he cannot be moved from the left. They have to interchange a lot. Kylian is very good on the left but now he has to be very good in another position,” said Karim Benzema to El Chiringuito.

Karim Benzema further said that Mbappe is aware of the pressure that comes with playing at Real Madrid and is confident he will adapt.
“I think Kylian Mbapé knows that there is a lot of pressure here. Real Madrid is a club where you can win Ballon d’Or but if you can’t score for 2 or 3 games, they will k*ll you. He has to learn to live with that and he has to put himself under a lot of pressure. Every game is a new game and he has to score goals because they brought you here only to score goals,” said Karim Benzema on Kylian Mbappe.
