After a surprising visit from Rahul Gandhi, the shoemaker was offered Rs 10 lakh for footwear mended by the leader but he opted to frame the “lucky” shoes instead.
The unexpected visit on July 26 brought Ramchet into the limelight, attracting significant attention and business offers. The brief stopover at Ramchet’s rundown shop near the district court has led to a surge in offers and people taking selfies with him. “People are clicking selfies with me. Rahul Gandhi contacted me. I am getting a lot of calls for that slipper… I have been offered Rs 10 lakh for that slipper. However, I denied the offer. I will not give that slipper to anyone.
