NEW DELHI: Mumbai Indians (MI) went into the Indian Premier League (IPL) auction with just Rs 45 crore left in their purse after spending Rs 75 crore on retaining their five core players.
One of the most successful IPL teams with five titles, MI spent the most on buying back veteran New Zealand pacer Trent Boult, who fetched a bid of Rs 12.5 crore, at the two-day auction in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.
The uncapped Naman Dhir was another player from the MI roster that the franchise chose to buy back at the Abadi Al Johar Arena on day one of the auction. Dhir was bought for Rs 5.25 crore.
