NEW DELHI: An Air India Express flight destined for Muscat returned to the bay at Thiruvananthapuram Airport on Friday morning due to suspected smoke observed during take-off.
The incident occurred around 10.30am. There were 142 passengers onboard, who were subsequently offloaded for inspection, according to an airport source.
An Air India Express spokesperson stated that an alternative aircraft has been arranged to continue the journey for the passengers.
An investigation will be conducted to identify the issue. The spokesperson said, “We regret the inconvenience while prioritising safety in every aspect of our operations.”
