HYDERABAD: Cyberabad police on Thursday arrested award-winning choreographer Jani Master, alias Shaik Jani Basha, for allegedly raping his assistant choreographer.
A senior official from Cyberabad said that he will be produced before a local court and then be shifted to Hyderabad for further probe.
While it is widely rumoured that he was picked up in Bengaluru, police are yet to confirm the exact location from where he was picked up.
Police had earlier booked Jani for raping the woman on multiple occasions and harassing her repeatedly by putting her under fear.
Later, police added the PoCSO Act to the case since the woman, who is now 21, was first raped by him in 2019, when she was still a minor.
The woman alleged that after seeing her in a reality show on television, Jani offered her a role as his assistant in 2019 and since then assaulted her sexually and physically.
She also alleged that Jani’s wife also harassed her.
