‘No active shooter’: Sheriff clarifies after panic erupts at Magic Kingdom, watch video – Times of India

A panic situation erupted at Walt Disney World after the false rumors of an active shooter inside the Florida theme park.
A user shared the video on X capturing terrifying moments from inside Magic Kingdom where several objects were seen scattered.
“Went to Magic Kingdom today and there was literally a stampede because of a suspected shooter i thought that was actually going to be my last day.I was shoved out of the way and fell. mothers were crying looking for their daughters, people were hiding, it was so bad,” a user wrote on X.

After the video went viral, the Orange County Sheriff’s office issued a clarification that there was no shooter at the Walt Disney’s Magic Kingdom and added that a fight occured there.
“There is NO active shooter at @WaltDisneyWorld’s Magic Kingdom. A fight occurred, and a ‘popping’ sound was heard that we believe was a balloon. Guests began running and that’s how the active shooter rumor started. There is no active shooter,” office said.

It is unclear where the reported fight occurred, whether anyone was hurt in that fight, nor whether anyone was hurt when crowds began running.
Another person, who was there at the scene, describing the incident said as chaotic, with many people crying and anxious.
Glenn Brady and his loved ones, who were on a trip from Kansas, found themselves caught in the middle of a chaotic situation when rumors of a potential active shooter spread through the park. The incident occurred just after the conclusion of the Happily Ever After fireworks display, which signaled the closure of the park’s rides, attractions, and shows for the evening, although the stores remained open.
“We were walking down Main Street, heading out of the park, when we – my family was in one of the stores, and then all of a sudden, people came rushing into the store,” Brady recounted to FOX 35’s Zac Prudhomme during a Zoom interview.
In the midst of the confusion, Brady found himself momentarily separated from one of his daughters. As security personnel directed everyone to seek shelter, he managed to reunite with his wife, two daughters, and two grandchildren. The family gathered close together, waiting anxiously for further updates on the situation.
