A new home for orphaned girls aged 10 and below and elderly women aged 50 and above is being established in Moolamcode, Palakkad.
The facility will house 144 residents, equally divided between the two groups, and provide basic necessities such as food, shelter, and education for the girls, along with skill training for the women. The priority will be given to individuals from economically weaker sections of society in the Palakkad district.
The initiative aims to create a supportive environment where these marginalized groups can live with dignity and access essential resources. The home will also include a hi-tech Anganwadi building to promote early childhood education in the region.
The project will be entirely managed by women staff, emphasizing inclusive care. PNC Menon, founder of Sobha Limited, initiated the project and said that it aims to offer dignity and opportunity to its residents.
