Is Cricket A Part of Paris Olympics?
Cricket was a part of the inaugural Olympics, held way back in 1896. However, due to insufficient entries, the event could not take place. Nevertheless, the sport again made its way in the succeeding Summer Olympics in 1900, and this time the play took place. Only two entrants, England and France were part of the sport. England defeated France to win the Gold medal. The sport was supposed to return in the 1904 edition but again it got cancelled. Since then more than a century has passed yet cricket could never come onboard a summer Olympics.
However, joy for the cricket fans is about to return as cricket is about to set foot in the Olympics once again. Cricket will once again become an Olympic sport not in 2024 but in 2028.
So, the answer to the question, Is Cricket a part of Paris 2024? is “No.” Nevertheless, cricket will make its presence felt in LA 2028. Thus, for the fanatics, the wait is prolonged but it is limited. In 2028, Team India could be making waves at the Paris Olympics, and a potential podium finish for the men-in-blue will be the talk of the town.
