Paris Paralympics 2024 Medals Tally: Where Does India Stand At The End Of Day 2?

At the end of day 2 at the Paris Paralympics 2024, China sits at the top of the medal tally chart with 25 medals which also includes 12-gold medals. The various excellent performances by the Chinese para-athletes have put them at the top of the table at the Paralympics. As for India, it is a historic event for the nation as the country has sent the largest ever Paralympics contingent with 84 athletes which also includes 32 women. The Indian contingent will be participating in 12-sporting events which is 3 more than the Tokyo games. 

Historic Day For India In Paris 

India has created history on several occasions during the Paris Paralympics 2024. Another instance of history being created happened when Avani Lekhara secured a gold medal for India at the 10m Air Rifle Category. This gold medal for Lekhara made her the first Indian woman to win two gold medals at the Paralympics as she successfully defended her gold from the Tokyo Paralympics. 

India’s Mona Agarwal settled for the bronze medal in the same event. In the 10m Air Pistol category, Manish Narwal secured a silver medal for India whereas Preethi Pal secured a bronze medal in the Women’s 100m.

With all of these medals coming India’s way, India now have a total of 4 medals with 1 gold, 1 silver and 2 bronze. India currently sit 18th on the Paralympics table and are just behind South Korea who sit on 17th with a total of 5 medals.
