Passengers Evacuated from Air India Express Flight Due to Smoke Alarm | Thiruvananthapuram News – Times of India

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Passengers on a Muscat-bound Air India Express flight were evacuated after smoke was detected just before the plane was about to take off around 10.30am on Friday.
According to an airline official, all 142 passengers were safely shifted to the terminal, where they were provided with food and beverages. The airline arranged an alternative flight to accommodate the affected.However, due to a scheduled runway closure from 2pm to 4pm, the alternative flight could only depart at 4.10pm.
“An investigation will be conducted to determine the exact cause of the incident. We regret the inconvenience caused to our passengers, but we prioritize safety above all else in every aspect of our operations,” stated a release from Air India Express.
