Real Madrid goalkeeper Andriy Lunin is reportedly ready to leave the club on a free transfer next year as he prepares to run out the last remaining year on his contract. Lunin joined the Madrid side back in 2018 and then spent two seasons on loan.
After that he operated as a back up goalkeeper to Belgian goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois. Across three seasons Lunin only managed 17 appearances up until last year. Last season, Thibaut Courtois was out due to a knee injury and thus Lunin started in 31 games.

Lunin Prepared To Run Down Contract
Andriy Lunin has entered into the final year of his contract with Real Madrid and he has been returned back to the bench as Thibaut Courtois is back with the team after recovering from his knew injury. Due to this, the career of Lunin is stuck as he will again hardly get any playing time with Courtois back in the squad.

Lunin’s current plan is to let the contract run out so he can leave Madrid on a free transfer next season and have his pick of clubs to sign for. It is also reported that Real Madrid have offered a contract extension to Lunin but he has not yet responded to it.
Problem For Kepa And Chelsea
The world’s most expensive goalkeeper Kepa spent last season with Real Madrid on loan. He was the initial starter for the team before losing his place to Lunin. Real Madrid see the Spanish goalkeeper as a potential target to replace Lunin and Chelsea are also desperate to off-load the goalkeeper.
With Lunin ready to run out his contract at Real Madrid and leave for a free transfer, a transfer for Kepa to Madrid would not be able to happen.
