With BCCI Secretary Jay Shah’s term as BCCI Secretary set to end by October, speculations are rife over who will replace him. Multiple reports suggest that Jay Shah would file the nomination for the ICC Chairman. And if that is the case, someone would have to replace him. As per a report in Dainik Bhaskar, the current Delhi and District Cricket Association (DDCA) President Rohan Jaitley is the man best placed to replace Jay Shah. While it cannot be confirmed, an official word is expected soon.

Jay Shah to Become Next ICC Chairman?
As per reports, Jay Shah has the support and is in all probability going to contest for the position of ICC Chairman. Shah is yet to file the nomination, but that is expected to happen soon. The nomination process is expected to conclude by the evening of August 26 (today), setting the stage for a potential changing of the guard in international cricket administration.
The outgoing ICC chairman Greg Barclay recently confirmed he’ll not be throwing his hat in the ring for a third term.
“ICC Chair Greg Barclay confirmed to the Board that he will not stand for a third term and will step down from the post when his current tenure finishes at the end of November. Barclay was appointed as the Independent ICC Chair in November 2020, before being re-elected in 2022,” the ICC stated in a media release.

When did Jay Shah join BCCI?
Shah became a member of the finance and marketing committees of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) in 2015. He stepped down from the position of GCA joint secretary in September 2019. The following month, he was elected as the secretary of BCCI, the youngest of the five office bearers.
