India vs New Zealand: Questions are being raised on Rohit Sharma , Virat Kohli ‘s spots in the Test side after India’s debacle versus New Zealand. The Indian team which boasts of an enviable record at home in Test cricket was whitewashed by New Zealand on Sunday in Mumbai. Following the debacle, former Pakistan cricketer Basit Ali has compared Rohit and Kohli’s situation to Babar Azam . The former Pakistan captain was recently dropped from the Test side following dismal show with the bat. Will the same happen with Rohit and Kohli, Basit recons it may.

‘Babar ke baad, Rohit aur Virat ki bhi wohi situation’
“Babar ke baad, Rohit aur Virat ki bhi wohi situation ho gayi hai, form kharab (after Babar, Rohit and Virat find themselves in the same situation — out of form),” said Basit.
“When Rohit missed two deliveries (on Sunday), struck on then on the lower abdomen, he stepped out to hit a four. This shows that his feet aren’t moving, form is not good. Then he hit a four off a reverse-sweep,” Basit analysed.
” Virat Kohli , out of touch, not in form at all. He needs to play domestic (cricket) before flying to Australia; Rohit also. Test-match pratice can’t be seen (in their batting),” said Basit.

What Rohit Said…
“Something like this will be a very low point of my career and I take full responsibility for it,” Rohit said at the post-match press conference. He added that losing a Test series like this at home is not “easily digestible”.
In a few days time, the Indian team will take on Australia in the much-awaited Border-Gavaskar Trophy. India’s chances of making a third consecutive World Test Championship final has taken a major hit following the whitewash against NZ.
