CHANDIGARH: Haryana chief minister Nayab Singh Saini on Tuesday flayed the Congress and AAP and their leaders while accusing them of doing politics in the name of farmers.
Saini was interacting with media after releasing vultures in air at vulture breeding centre at Pinjore.
The journalists drew his attention toward the health conditions of farmer leader Dallewal and support announced by Congress and other leaders who visited him at Khanauri borders. Notably Congress ML A Vinesh Phogat had also visited Dallewal on Monday.
While reacting to the statements by varius Congress and AAP leaders, especially the sportperson turned politician and Julana MLA Vinesh Phogat, Saini said that it was Congress rule and its successive governments which always ignored the farmers and their issues.
” Vinesh Phogat must tell that it was Bhupinder Hooda led Committee which gave its recommendations on the Swaminathan report. And it was UPA government which dumped Hooda led Committee report in the dustbin for years. Politics over farmers’ issues is really unfortunate,” Saini said that he is not opposed to any leader or person visiting agitating farmers but they must inform farmers about the reasons for dumping the report of Hooda committee.
Saini further said that It was during Bhupinder Hooda led Congress regime in Haryana when DAP and urea was sold in black marketing. Now we are not only making its easy availability but our government is giving subsidies on agriculture instruments.
Saini asked his Punjab counterpart Bhagwant Maan to follow Haryana in procuring all the crops on MSP and support the farmers.
” In Haryana we are procuring 100% of crops at MSP, and farmers growing vegetables are supported through Bhavanter scheme Prime minister Narendera Modi led government has taken several steps for the welfare of farmers. This includes fasal bima yojna, financial support to farmers etc. This double engine government is working day and night for the welfare of all,” said Saini
Referring to the One nation One election bill tabled in Lok Sabha, Saini said.
The bill will streamline elections, reduce administrative costs, and prevent development delays caused by frequent elections.
