Sarfaraz Khan Gives a FIERY Send-off To Rachin Ravindra After Latter’s Dismissal During Mumbai Test

Tensions are high at the Wankhede Stadium as Team India aims to rout New Zealand by bagging themselves a consolation win before they head down under for the Australia challenge. The Blackcaps have already sealed the series with a 2-0 lead, but the Men in Blue want to avoid a whitewash. The Mumbai Test is something they are seeking to win, and the Indian side has had a fine outing so far. Kiwis lost some of their top-order batters, but it was Rachin Ravindra’s dismissal which ignited a fire among the Indian players. Sarfaraz Khan, in particular, was pretty much fired up.

In the last ball of the 19th over, India’s Washington Sundar shined yet again as he managed to scalp off Rachin Ravindra’s wicket. The dismissal is significant as Ravindra is the series’ highest run-getter, and taking the in-form batter down was the biggest moment for Team India in the first session. Sundar’s delivery went around the stumps after being released wide of the crease. Ravindra steps ahead to defend, but the ball slightly turns, clipping off the stumps. Disappointed, Rachin had to walk back.

But Sarfaraz Khan, who stood at the silly point, celebrated in the face of Rachin Ravindra as he came forward and screamed at his face before he walked off towards the dressing room.

Speaking of the match, New Zealand reached 92 at the loss of three wickets at lunch on the opening day of the third and final Test against India at the Wankhede Stadium on Friday. The Men in Blue made an early breakthrough in the fourth over when pacer Akash Deep dismissed opener Devon Conway for four after New Zealand opted to bat first. Off-spinner Washington Sundar then maintained the pressure on the NZ batter by picking up two crucial wickets — Tom Latham (28) and Rachin Ravindra (5), before the first session ended and the lunch break ensued.
