Seers express discontent over Dimple Yadav’s remarks on Maha Kumbh entry

PRAYAGRAJ: Prominent seers have expressed their displeasure over the comment of Samajwadi Party MP and former CM Akhilesh Yadav’s wife, Dimple Yadav, against the proposal of the Akhil Bharatiya Akhara Parishad over non-Sanatanis not attending the Maha Kumbh or putting up their shops.
ABAP president and Niranjani Akhara secretary, Mahant Ravindra Puri, said that Dimple is like a sister to all of us and she is from the clan of Lord Krishna. “She should explain the feelings of those who believe in Sanatan Dharma. Such statements are not expected from her,” he added.
ABAP recently said that non-Sanatanis should not be allowed to open shops in the Maha Kumbh. This statement of the parishad has also been backed up by several prominent seers and both factions of the ABAP.
Mahant Ravindra Puri said that people “who spit in food items, if they are given the facility to put up their shops in the mela area, will work to corrupt our religion and practices”. “We, Sanatan Dharmis, keep food clean and, in fact, do not eat the leftovers of even our family members. In such a situation, if this happens, our religion will be corrupted,” he added.
Dimple Yadav recently said that those who are demanding that non-Sanatani (non-Hindus) should not be allowed in the mela area want to destroy the social fabric of our country and the ‘Ganga-Jamuni’ tehzib. “These people are talking against the Constitution because they do not want the country to function as per the Constitution; rather, it should run on their whims,” she is reported to have said.
Seers also expressed their displeasure over the statement of former minister Swami Prasad Maurya on the pandemonium which happened in the Mela authority office on Thursday. The president of the Akhara Parishad said that he has always been giving statements against Sanatan Dharma. “Look at his condition today; may God give him wisdom,” he said. Maurya had allegedly called the saints “saffron-clad goons” on Thursday.
Similarly, VHP’s Sadhvi Prachi had said that the entry of non-Hindus should be prohibited in Maha Kumbh, and all saints should raise questions on this. While offering prayers at Ayodhya on Friday, she questioned if a non-Muslim cannot enter Mecca-Medina, then why is a non-Sanatani shop necessary in Maha Kumbh. She said that the non-Hindus ruled India by dividing us in the name of caste, religion, and language. “Now we should not be divided but stand united,” she said, alleging that various political parties are working to divide the Hindus.
