BHOPAL: A sub-inspector was allegedly crushed to death by a car driven by a female constable and her partner in Rajgarh district, Madhya Pradesh, on Tuesday. The deceased, Sub-Inspector Dipankar Gautam, was posted at the Rajgarh Reserve Police Line.
The vehicle involved in the incident was driven by Pallavi Solanki, a constable from Pachor police station.After the collision, Pallavi and her partner, Karan Thakur, went to the rural police station and reported the incident, admitting that they had killed the SI.
SP Aditya Mishra conducted an overnight interrogation of Pallavi and Karan at the SDOP office. The incident is currently under investigation, with a possible connection to a love triangle being explored.
According to police reports, SI Gautam was travelling by bike on the Biaora-Dewas highway when Pallavi’s car hit him from behind near a petrol pump. The impact threw SI Gautam onto the car’s bonnet and windshield, and he was dragged for approximately 30 metres. He sustained severe injuries to his head, left knee, and other parts of his body.
Following the collision, Pallavi and Karan reported the incident to the police, while local residents rushed SI Gautam to a nearby civil hospital. Despite being referred to Bhopal for further treatment, he succumbed to his injuries en-route. His body was subsequently taken to Chirayu Hospital in Bhopal for post-mortem.
Pallavi Solanki and Karan Thakur are reportedly involved in a romantic relationship. Recently, Karan had shot Pallavi during a confrontation, causing a near-fatal injury to her neck. The couple had reconciled despite this incident. Pallavi’s relationship with SI Gautam is said to have developed over time.
Sources indicate that SI Gautam had expressed concerns about his safety to his friend, SI Subhash, suspecting that Pallavi and Karan might harm him. However, Subhash arrived at the scene only after the incident had occurred.
SI Dipankar Gautam, originally from Shivpuri district, had previously faced legal issues related to sexual assault.
Although he was acquitted by the court and resumed police service, his past legal troubles remain part of his background.
