Supreme Court seeks sealed report from Manipur govt on action taken against trespassers, property damage | India News – Times of India

NEW DELHI: The Supreme Court on Monday asked the Manipur government for a confidential report detailing property damage resulting from recent unrest. The court wants to know about buildings that were burned, partially burned, looted, trespassed upon, and encroached upon.
The report must include the names and addresses of the original property owners and identify who currently occupies those properties. The court also wants to know what steps the government has taken “to ensure that the persons who have trespassed are proceeded against as per law.”
