HYDERABAD: Cyberabad’s Special Operation Team (SOT) conducted a search at a farmhouse in Janwada under Mokila PS limits and caught one person who abused cocaine. The farmhouse is owned by BRS Working President KT Rama Rao’s brother-in-law, Raj Pakala.
A senior police officer from Cyberabad Police said that there were 30 members who were part of the party. Based on a tip-off, a team of policemen conducted searches and allegedly found excessive foreign liquor. Later, the officials made the participants undergo drug tests. M Vijay tested positive during the random test. He was then taken to a corporate hospital, which confirmed that he tested positive for cocaine.
“Cyberabad Police registered a case in Mokila Police Station against two persons under the NDPS Act. Vijay for abusing the drug and Raj Pakala for allowing his premises to be misused,” an officer told TOI.
Police said that they found three violations: the organisers did not take permission from Excise officials, stocked excessive foreign liquor beyond what is permitted, and violated the NDPS Act. Following the searches, Cyberabad Police called in Excise sleuths too, and they are expected to file a separate case for violation of Excise rules.
However, no one was arrested by the police since the punishment, if proved, for the charges is less than 7 years. After the name of Raj Pakala came to light, it created a sensation with BRS’s political opponents starting to react.
Except for M Vijay, who tested positive for cocaine, others tested negative. Police registered a case against Vijay and KTR‘s brother-in-law.
