Tenant dispute leads to fatal stabbing in Delhi's Govindpuri, 1 killed

NEW DELHI: A man was murdered, and his brother and friend were injured after being stabbed in Govindpuri, South East Delhi. The accused and victims were tenants in the same building, sharing a common toilet. A dispute over cleaning the toilet escalated into a violent altercation.
Police detained a man, his wife, and three children in connection with the case. Police received a PCR call at 12.07 am reporting a quarrel between two sets of neighbours.
Sudheer, his brother Prem, and their friend Sagar were injured and admitted to AIIMS Trauma Centre. Around 3 am, police received further information that Sudheer succumbed to his injuries, Prem (22) was unfit to give a statement, and Sagar (20) was discharged.
Both the accused and victims were first-floor tenants in the Govindpuri building, sharing a common toilet. The argument began when a minor used the toilet and failed to flush it.
Sudheer sustained stab wounds to the chest near the heart, as well as to his face and scalp, inflicted with a kitchen knife.
During the investigation, police detained Bhikam Singh, his wife Meena, and their three sons: Sanjay (20), Rahul (18), and a minor. Bhikam works at a building materials shop in Govindpuri.
A tenant of the building said, “I saw the fight and later went to the house of the victims to alert their family members. Blood was everywhere on their bodies. They were taken to the hospital. The accused recently shifted to the building.”
A crime team visited the scene and collected evidence. A murder case was registered at the Govindpuri police station.
