Donald Trump recently appeared on “Six Feet Under,” the podcast of retired wrestling legend The Undertaker, real name Mark Calaway, where the former president revealed his fascination with professional wrestling.
Over the course of the interview, Trump also quizzed the legendary wrestler on the realities of the ring, showcasing his curiosity and deep interest in the world of sports entertainment.
During their exchange, Trump bombarded Calaway with rapid-fire questions, ranging from how wrestling rings absorb impact to the physical toll on wrestlers. “Does that ring take great absorption?” Trump asked, diving into specifics that highlighted his intrigue.

Calaway responded by explaining the harshness of earlier rings and how wrestlers had to condition themselves to take the physical punishment.
The conversation also took a humorous turn, with Trump recalling his involvement in WrestleMania, notably his appearance in the “Battle of the Billionaires” at WrestleMania 23, where he and WWE Chairman Vince McMahon squared off in a match represented by wrestlers, leading to McMahon getting his head shaved.
Trump reminisced about the event, noting it drew record pay-per-view buys, and praised The Undertaker’s iconic slow entrance, calling him one of the greatest sports entertainers.
As the two delved deeper, Trump inquired about behind-the-scenes tensions in the wrestling world. “How often did someone get really angry?” Trump asked, curious about real fights in the scripted entertainment world.
Calaway likened the professional relationships in wrestling to politics, stating that while wrestlers might not always like each other, they had to maintain professionalism—a sentiment Trump found relatable.
The interview also saw Trump praising Calaway’s endurance in the ring, with the former president questioning whether the wrestler ever had to be carried out due to injury.
“What most people don’t realise, Mr President, is that although we’re entertainment, in any given match, you’re two inches away from something really catastrophic happening,” Calaway explained, making the former US President aware of the dangers of pro wrestling despite its scripted nature.
Trump’s passion for wrestling, along with his personal connections to WWE through longtime friend Vince McMahon, was evident throughout the interview.
He praised the athleticism of the wrestlers and fondly recalled his role in several WWE events, even expressing awe at the intensity of their performances. As the interview drew to a close, Calaway commented on Trump’s persona, noting that his podcast appearance showed a side of the former president that people don’t often see—his humour and genuine interest in sports and entertainment.
