BJP is must for security & developed India: Yogi
Chief minister Yogi Adityanath on Saturday said that those who earlier criticised India and challenged its sovereignty were now greeting others with ‘Ram Ram’. Addressing election rallies in Haryana, he added that if BJP grew stronger, those who had opposed the Ram and Shri Krishna temples would also be seen chanting ‘Hare Rama, Hare Krishna’ on the streets.
Recounting an incident from his recent campaign tour in J&K, Yogi said when he was at the airport, he heard someone say ‘Ram Ram’. Initially he could not see who it was but when he greeting again, he turned around to see it was a Maulvi.
“I felt that this was the impact of the removal of Article 370. Those who once cursed India and questioned its sovereignty are now greeting with ‘Ram Ram’.
Hum bante the toh kate thhe (When we were divided, we were slaughtered). If we hadn’t been divided, the Ram temple would never have been demolished, no structure of slavery would have been built on Krishna’s birthplace, and the country would never have been enslaved,” the CM said.
Focussing on Haryana, the CM alleged that it had faced significant challenges due to Congress’ corruption and exploitation and various mafias in mining, forest, cow, animal, land, and organized crime, were closely linked to the Congress and had been taking advantage of Haryana’s resources.
“In the past 10 years, Haryana has embarked on a new journey of development. While the Congress government claimed that only Muslims had rights to the country’s resources, the BJP and Prime Minister Narendra Modi advocate for ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas’. The BJP is essential for security, national unity, and a developed India,” he said.
Comparing the development of Haryana to that of UP’s, the CM said that the state had not witnessed any riots since 2017, contrasting it with the past when disturbances were commonplace. Rioters are either in jail or on their way to hell,” he said.
In the recent past, under the leadership of PM Modi and Nayab Singh Saini, Haryana was progressing toward new avenues of development. He stressed the importance of maintaining the momentum of growth driven by BJP’s double-engine government and accused Congress, INLD, and the Aam Aadmi Party of opposing development.
“INLD’s troubled history prevents them from achieving meaningful progress while BJP guarantees security, development, employment, good governance, and respects faith. ‘Jhaadu lagane walon ne Dilli ko gandagi ke dher mein badal diya hai,’ (those who wield a broom have turned Delhi into a heap of filth),” he said, referring to the AAP and its political symbol.
He also made reference to Pakistan, saying that while 80 crore people in India were benefiting from free ration, people in the neighbouring country were struggling for a single roti. Under PM Modi’s leadership, he said, India had become prosperous, and the speed of development had significantly enhanced.
Speaking about the Ram Temple in Ayodhya, the CM said even after independence in 1947, the Congress government could have constructed the Ram temple but instead chose to create a controversy.
“Congress was the primary obstacle to the temple’s construction. The issue, which had remained unresolved during Congress’ tenure, was finally addressed in 2019 after Narendra Modi had become PM and the BJP came to power in UP in 2017,” he said. Hitting out at Congress, the CM called it the root of the country’s problems, while the BJP was the solution.
He said that the party had burdened the nation with its issues and weakened it by exploiting the tragedies of partition, caste, region, and language. This has pushed the nation towards terrorism, extremism, Naxalism, and anarchy. He also criticised Rahul Gandhi for making controversial statements. “Rahul goes to one state to speak ill of another and defames India when abroad.
In times of national crisis, he recalls his grandmother in Italy instead of focusing on India. The youth of Haryana must recognise that Congress divisive politics is harming our nation,” he said.
