Tishaa Kumar, the daughter of Krishan Kumar and Tanya Singh and cousin of Bhushan Kumar, tragically passed away in July this year. Months later, her mother has shared an emotional note, addressing misconceptions about her daughter’s passing.
Tanya clarified that Tishaa did not have cancer to begin with and revealed heartbreaking details about a ‘misdiagnosis’ that ultimately led to her untimely demise.
Taking to her Instagram handle, Tanya shared a heartfelt video featuring joyous moments with her daughter, Tishaa Kumar. The clip captured Tishaa’s vibrant personality, showcasing her as a cheerful, lively young woman who adored pets and cherished time with her loved ones.
Alongside the post, Tanya wrote, “’How, What, Why.’ Many have been reaching out, asking me to share what truly happened. But truth is subjective and relative to how one perceives it.”
Tanya continued her note, expressing the heartbreak of seeing “a pure, innocent soul” face injustice caused by someone else’s wrongdoings. She described the situation as “confusing” and “complicated,” emphasizing the tragedy of realizing the truth only when it’s too late.
“No matter what philosophies say, no matter the business of medical (mis)diagnosis and (mal)practices, and no matter if people dismiss beliefs like the evil eye, dark magic, or Nazar, it’s all irrelevant to the truth,” Tanya Singh wrote. “What anyone else thinks doesn’t matter because no one else knows what you know. In time, the truth reveals itself, and it will.”
Tanya shared that despite enduring so much, her daughter never succumbed to fear or depression. Describing her as “the bravest version of brave” and “the most fearless and cool 20-year-old ever,” Tanya revealed that Tishaa was determined to spread awareness about not letting medical diagnoses instill fear in others.
“The truth is, my daughter did not have ‘cancer’ to begin with,” Tanya Singh clarified. “At age 15 and a half, she received a vaccine that possibly triggered an autoimmune response, which was then misdiagnosed. We were unaware of this at the time.”
In her concluding message, she urged parents to seek second and third opinions before opting for invasive procedures like a bone marrow test or biopsy if their child experiences ‘lymph node swellings.’
Tanya explained, “Lymph nodes are the body’s defense guards and can swell due to emotional trauma, feelings of rejection or betrayal, or an untreated previous infection. Unfortunately, we were already caught in the ‘medical trap’ long before this information reached us.” She expressed her hope that no child would ever have to endure the “cruel world of medical traps.”
What causes lymph nodes to swell?
Lymph node swelling, or lymphadenopathy, occurs when lymph nodes become enlarged due to an active immune response. Infections are the most common cause, including bacterial, viral (like the flu or HIV), and fungal infections. Conditions like tuberculosis or mononucleosis can also trigger swelling.
Other causes include inflammatory disorders like rheumatoid arthritis or lupus, which activate the immune system abnormally. Cancers, such as lymphoma or leukemia, may cause persistent lymph node swelling. Less commonly, swollen nodes can result from medications or allergic reactions.
The location and associated symptoms, like pain or fever, help determine the underlying cause, necessitating medical evaluation for proper diagnosis and treatment.
Can vaccines cause lymph node swelling?
Certain vaccines can cause temporary lymph node swelling as a normal immune response. This occurs because the vaccine stimulates the immune system, prompting lymph nodes to produce immune cells.
Vaccines for measles, mumps, rubella (MMR), and smallpox can lead to lymphadenopathy in some cases.
These reactions are typically mild and resolve within a few days to weeks. Swelling indicates the body is building immunity, but persistent or severe symptoms should be evaluated by a doctor.
For the unversed, the Kumar family shared an official statement following Tishaa’s passing, revealing that she died after a prolonged struggle with illness.
