The returning ‘Bad Blood’ Premium Live Event is right up on us and the biggest center of attraction in the event would be the Hell in a Cell match between archrivals Drew McIntyre and CM Punk. While Bad Blood is famous for hosting legendary Hell in a Cell matches, there have been some mind-boggling and shocking moments that took place inside the steel structure, in other Hell in a Cell matches also.
Today, we look at the top five greatest moments in the history of Hell in a Cell matches.
1. Triple H vs Cactus Jack (No Way Out 2000)
In the main event of the ‘No Way Out’ PPV in 2000, Triple H went one on one against Cactus Jack. Hunter defeated Jack and as was decided earlier, Jack had to retire from wrestling, if he lost. The mind-boggling moment from the match happened, when both the heavy weights were on the top of the cell and Triple H countered a “Piledriver” from Jack, which made Jack fall through the cage,0 into the ring beneath and buckled. The ring punctured with the weight of Jack and Triple H got down to complete the formalities. This will go down as one of the most brutal moments in the history of WWE.
2. The Undertaker vs Edge (SummerSlam, 2008)

FULL MATCH – Undertaker vs. Edge – Hell in a Cell Match: SummerSlam 2008

In the final match of the 2008 SummerSlam pay-per-view, Undertaker fought with Edge to close their rivalry out, inside Hell in a Cell. With all kinds of weapons included in the match, it was one of the most physically hurtful and entertaining matches of all time. Even after defeating Edge, The Undertaker was not satisfied. He went back and “Chokeslam’d” Edge through the center of the ring, into the canvas. And then, did his signature pose, almost directing the flames to engulf the punctured area of the ring. In the closing moments, Jim Ross yelled that Edge has been “sent to hell”. This was the single most chilling moment in the history of WWE.
3. Mankind vs The Undertaker (King of the Ring, 1998)
In this match, two of the most scary moments of all time in the history of WWE took place. Undertaker took on Mankind inside the steel structure. First, Undertaker threw Mankind from the top of the cage, through the announcer table beneath. Just the sound generated by mankind falling was scary enough to know how big a damage it would have done. The crowd was completely silent by this act. Secondly, both the superstars again collided at the top of the cell, and this time Undertaker “Chokeslams” Mankind through the roof of the cell, into the ring. Ask any 90’s WWE fan and he can not forget the sight of Mankind falling into the ring through the roof top.
4. The Undertaker vs Shawn Michaels (1997)
In a moment that would change the history of WWE, Undertaker’s half brother Kane debuted at Bad Blood, in 1997. While Undertaker was on the verge of securing a victory against Shawn Michaels, inside the steel structure, Kane’s music hit for the first time in WWE and he barged inside the steel structure breaking the door through. He Tombstone’d his brother Undertaker, and signaled the start of a new Era. An era of the “Big Red Monster”.
5. Triple H vs The Undertaker (WrestleMania 2012)
Undertaker is featuring for the fourth time in this list and this just justifies his greatness inside Hell in a Cell. Amid a brutal and intensifying match between two of the greatest superstars of WWE, Shawn Michaels, the special guest referee, decided to help out his Best friend Triple H and delivered a “Sweet Chin Music” to the “Deadman”. Right after that, Triple H hit Undertaker with a “Pedigree”, hoping to break his WrestleMania streak. But to everyone’s massive surprise, Undertaker still kicked out. Triple H, Shawn Michaels, the commentators, the fans present in the arena and people watching on the TV, no one could believe what had just transpired, and it was one of the most shocking moments of Hell in a Cell matches.
