Trump vs. Harris: Woody Johnson’s Support and the Jets’ Political Divide | NFL News – Times of India

In an interesting turn of events, the New York Jets owner Woody Johnson is in support of Donald Trump against the current Vice President of the U.S Kamala Harris when the two debate on stage to make their case to the American citizens regarding who will become the next President of the U.S in 2025. Johnson recently appeared on FOX where he spoke about his team’s winning season at the upcoming season of the NFL but also mentioned how he thinks the Former President of the U.S.and the 45th President, Donald Trump must be ready as well.

Johnson shares a very old professional relationship with the Former President of the U.S. when Johnson became the U.S. administrator to the UK during Trump’s administration.
In contrast to many of Johnson’s colleagues, including Vice President Mike Pence, Johnson is comfortable sharing his personal opinions regarding the very controversial upcoming challenge between Trump and Harris.
According to Sportskeeda, Johnson candidly spoke about his expectations from Trump for his upcoming debate with Harris, “I think Trump is going to do really very well in the debates, and other things are going to happen too that really help the former President become elected.”
Trump has been a former resident of New York but both the times that he contested for Presidential elections, he has never been able to win the state. Oddly enough, New Jersey which is where New York Jets play their home game has never voted for USA’s 45th President.
However, Trump enjoys supporters in the New York Jets team. Apart from Johnson, Sauce Gardner who is the star on defense for New York Jets came out in support of Trump when there was an assassination attempt on him in July 2024.
Another teammate Aaron Rodgers was supporting Robert F. Kennedy Jr. Since Kennedy quit his campaign and decided to touch bases with Trump, one might expect the same shift from Rodgers as well. Rodgers is the starting quarterback for the New York Jets.
