US elections: JD Vance and Tim Walz agree to vice-presidential debate on October 1 – Times of India

Republican vice presidential nominee JD Vance on Thursday agreed to participate in a debate against his rival Governor of Minnesota Tim Walz who earlier confirmed his participation for the same on X. Both candidates have accepted an invitation from CBS News on October 1.
Vance also expressed his willingness to participate in a second, earlier debate on September 18, as proposed by CNN.
Sharing a post on X, the Senator of Ohio said : “The American people deserve as many debates as possible, which is why President Trump has challenged Kamala to three of them already. Not only do I accept the CBS debate on October 1st, I accept the CNN debate on September 18th as well. I look forward to seeing you at both!”
“See you on October 1, JD,” Walz had earlier wrote on X.
Walz’s announcement came via X on Wednesday, following CBS News’s proposal of four potential debate dates: September 17, September 24, October 1, and October 8.
Meanwhile, Kamala Harris and Donald Trump have agreed to a presidential debate on September 10, according to the host ABC News.
