LUCKNOW: The youth and her UPSC aspirant friend in the shocking viral video where an unruly mob harassed them by splashing rainwater on them and then touching her when she fell off the bike in Lucknow’s Gomtinagar area on Wednesday recounted their horror on Friday.
The youth said he felt as though they were surrounded by a “pack of wild animals”, who were sneering and jeering at them while his friend struggled in the water.
“I pleaded and folded my hands, but they ignored me,” the youth said. “If something had happened to my friend, I would never have been able to forgive myself. Such individuals should be held accountable for their actions. They have mothers and sisters themselves, yet they show no respect for women.” The youth said that the miscreants behaved indecently toward his friend.

Both the youth and the woman are in a state of shock and have withdrawn from their routine activities. The youth was contacted by journalists and he expressed satisfaction over the govt’s response. Both individuals are preparing for the UPSC exams and had been studying at a private coaching’s library, which had been closed for the past three days due to its location in a building’s basement.
The youth had gone to retrieve some books when he encountered his woman friend, who was seeking an auto to return home. Due to the rain and waterlogging, the auto driver had dropped her near Samtamulak Crossing. So, he decided to help her cross the road. However, the road was flooded. When they were trying to navigate the flooded area on his bike, a group of youths started misbehaving with them.
