Watch: Israel fighter jets continue to attack dozens of Hezbollah targets in Lebanon

Israel launched fresh airstrikes in Lebanon‘s Bekaa region on Monday, targeting Hezbollah targets, the Israeli military said in a statement. According to the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF), the attacks were aimed at “dozens of launchers and buildings where weapons were stored,” with the military vowing to continue degrading Hezbollah’s military infrastructure. This comes just a day after more than 105 people were killed in widespread Israeli strikes across the country.
Footage shared by the IDF showed Israeli fighter jets striking Hezbollah targets, following the killing of seven Hezbollah commanders, including the organisation’s leader, Sheikh Hassan Nasrallah. The IDF released a statement confirming that its strikes had hit several Hezbollah sites across Lebanon and reiterated their commitment to further operations.
“In dozens of additional attacks, fighter jets attacked launchers aimed at the rear of the State of Israel, buildings where weapons were stored, and military buildings used by the organisation for terrorist activities against the State of Israel,” the IDF said. They added that the strikes would continue to target Hezbollah’s military capabilities.

The escalation comes amidst heightened tensions between Israel and Hezbollah, as part of the broader regional conflict involving Israel and Hamas. Hezbollah started launching attacks into Israel following Hamas’s assault on southern Israel on 7 October. In recent days, Israel has intensified its military operations, shifting focus from Gaza to Lebanon.
On Monday, witnesses reported Israeli airstrikes in central Beirut, marking the first such strikes on the capital in almost a year, AFP reported. The strikes hit a residential building, resulting in civilian casualties. Lebanese officials confirmed that 359 people were wounded in the airstrikes, with the death toll expected to rise.

In the past week, Israel’s strikes have killed several high-ranking Hezbollah leaders, including Nabil Kaouk, deputy head of Hezbollah’s Central Council. Despite these losses, Hezbollah has continued launching attacks on Israel.
The conflict has displaced over 200,000 people in Lebanon, with heavy damage reported in many areas. Meanwhile, Israel has vowed to continue its operations against Hezbollah until its military capabilities are significantly reduced.
