Australian cricketer Travis Head achieved a remarkable feat on Saturday, breaking day-night Test records at the Adelaide Oval during the match against India. He smashed fastest century in day-night Tests.
Jess expressed her joy at witnessing the century and highlighted the emotional connection the Adelaide Oval holds for their family. She noted the significance of achieving this milestone in front of loved ones as he continued his impressive run of performances against the Indian team.
Head’s family, including his five-week-old son Harrison, witnessed this special moment, marking Harrison’s first experience watching his father play.
“It was amazing, you can’t get anything better than doing a hundred at Adelaide. This is our home ground for both Travis and me. It’s a special place for him—it’s one of his favourite venues to play. Doing it in front of all his family and friends, especially with our newborn watching his first game, is just awesome,” said Jess Head, Travis’s wife to 7 cricket.

During Australia’s first innings, Head scored 140 runs off 141 balls at an impressive strike rate of 99.29.
This century marked Head’s third in day-night Test matches, placing him second on the list for most centuries in this format. Marnus Labuschagne leads the tally with four centuries.
“Yes, he did that celebration when we had Miller. I think he got a century in Miller’s first game as well, and now, in Harry’s first game, he’s done it again. It’s special.”
Jess recalled a similar moment when their older child, Miller, was born. Travis also scored a century during Miller’s first game, making this occasion even more poignant.
Despite appearing calm on the outside, Jess admitted to feeling quite nervous internally.
“Travis Head’s brothers, sisters, mother, father, cousins, uncles, and his in-laws were all there too. That’s why it’s so special—he loves his family and friends. He really cares about performing in front of everyone he loves, so it’s just awesome.”
The presence of Travis’s extended family made the achievement even more meaningful. Jess underscored his deep affection for his family and friends and his drive to excel in their presence.

Across all formats against India, Head has tallied 1,555 runs in 29 matches at an average of 44.42. This includes three centuries and six fifties, with his highest score of 163.
Head’s recent form against India has been exceptional. In his last ten innings across all formats, he has amassed 728 runs in eight matches at an average of 72.80. This includes three centuries and two half-centuries, with a highest score of 163 not out in the World Test Championship final.
Notably, he also scored 137 in the 50-over World Cup final and led Australia to victory, underscoring his consistency and impact against India.
