MS Dhoni , the talisman of Chennai Super Kings , might just have one more season up his sleeve and the CEO of the franchise Kasi Viswanathan has dropped a major hint regarding “Thala’s” participation in IPL 2025. Dhoni, who abdicated the CSK captaincy ahead of IPL 2024, is expected to be retained by the yellow outfit before the deadline day.

CSK CEO Kasi Viswanathan On MS Dhoni’s Inclusion In IPL 2025
Amid all the uncertainty about whether MS Dhoni will grace the field one more time or not, CSK CEO Kasi Viswanathan has made a comment that exuberates optimism about the icon featuring in IPL 2025.
“When he is ready, what else (do) we want. We are happy,” franchise CEO Kasi Viswanathan told Cricbuzz on Saturday. Viswanathan’s brief statement comes a day after MS Dhoni had said that he is looking forward to enjoying the days of twilight in his career.
“I just want to enjoy whatever last few years of cricket I am able to play,” Dhoni was quoted as saying to TOI. “When you play cricket like a professional sport, it becomes difficult to enjoy it just like a game. That’s what I want to do. It’s not easy.
“The emotions keep coming, the commitments are there. I want to enjoy the game for the next few years. I have to keep myself fit for nine months, so that I can play two and a half months of IPL. You need to plan it out, but at the same time chill a bit.”
It goes without saying that MS Dhoni is at the fag end of his career. When CSK won the IPL in 2023, the general speculation was that the stage was set for him to call it a career. Nevertheless, MS Dhoni returned to the sphere in 2024, this time not as a captain. Howbeit, this time Chennai finished outside of the top-4, leaving fans disappointed and wanting another season from MS Dhoni. Thus, it will be interesting to note whether MS Dhoni will make it to the cut again. Moreover, will he be included as a capped or an uncapped player, is another pressing query.
