US President-elect Donald Trump announced on Sunday the appointment of Indian-American entrepreneur, venture capitalist, and author Sriram Krishnan as the senior White House policy advisor on artificial intelligence (AI).
“Sriram Krishnan will serve as the Senior Policy Advisor for Artificial Intelligence at the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy,” Trump said while unveiling a series of key appointments related to artificial intelligence.

“Working closely with David Sacks, Sriram will focus on ensuring continued American leadership in AI and help shape and coordinate AI policy across government, including working with the President’s Council of Advisors on Science and Technology,” Trump said. He also highlighted Krishnan’s career achievements, mentioning his role as a founding member of Microsoft’s Windows Azure team.
