Due to Kylian Mbappe‘s arrival this summer, Diario AS claims that Real Madrid star Jude Bellingham is set to go to a central midfielder position next season.
Last summer from Borussia Dortmund, Bellingham signed for Carlo Ancelotti’s team on a stated value of €103 million. With Real Madrid, the Englishman enjoyed a remarkable first season collecting wins in the UEFA Champions League, La Liga, and the Supercopa de España.
Bellingham mostly played as an offensive midfielder last season, usually assuming a number 10 position for the squad. Leading the squad in goals, he was crucial in offensive plays—particularly in the absence of Karim Benzema. Making 42 games at all levels, the 21-year-old scored 23 goals and dished 13 assists.
Additionally, he achieved the position of being the third top goal scorer in La Liga, sharing this rank with Robert Lewandowski from Barcelona, both having scored 19 goals. They were in a worse position compared to Alexander Sorloth (23) from Villarreal and Artem Dovbyk (24) from Girona. Bellingham is poised to assume the position of a central midfielder with the addition of Kylian Mbappe from Paris Saint-Germain (PSG).
