WWE news: Gunther seemingly confirms Cody Rhodes’ plans for Bad Blood 2024 – Times of India

Cody Rhodes opened Bash in Berlin with a bang as he took on Kevin Owens with the WWE Championship on the line. Owens and Rhodes combined to deliver an excellent match that also had a beautiful story to tell. KO got his shot at the title but refused to hurt Cody in order to get his hands on it.
Even when Owens noticed Rhodes’ bad knee, he didn’t take advantage of the situation and kept the fight fair.Cody ended up winning the match, and it is among the best matches of his career. However, Rhodes wasn’t the main event at the Bash in Berlin PLE, despite being the undisputed champion. Instead, Gunther vs. Randy Orton for the World Heavyweight Championship was the main event.
Gunther shed light on the reason behind this during his conversation with Gorilla Position. He also seemingly confirmed Rhodes’ plans for the next WWE PLE, Bad Blood 2024. Let’s take a look at what he had to say:
“I guess Bad Blood, that’s in Georgia. I think that’s very fitting that Cody will be there last. So yeah, we will see, obviously, competitors, on the other hand, teammates, and whatever fits the occasion best.”

Gunther believes Cody Rhodes will be part of the main event at Bad Blood 2024

Rhodes took one for the team and let Gunther be the main event for Bash in Berlin. This is mainly because the PLE took place in Gunther’s hometown, and Rhodes wanted him to get his flowers. Now, Bad Blood 2024 will take place in Atlanta, Georgia, which is Cody’s hometown, so it only makes sense that he ends up as the main event.
However, spoilers suggest that WWE is planning a trilogy for the rivalry between CM Punk and Drew McIntyre. Their third and final match could be a Hell in a Cell at Bad Blood 2024, which would honestly be a fitting conclusion. Moreover, we also have to take into account that Rhodes doesn’t have a fierce rivalry at the moment.
Solo Sikoa is the one person who could have the main event with Cody at Bad Blood, but the champ already beat Solo at SummerSlam. WWE could even set up a new storyline to help Rhodes main event at Bad Blood 2024. It’ll be interesting to see who Rhodes’ opponent will be for the upcoming PLE.
