The December 6 episode of Friday Night SmackDown has started with Undisputed Champion Cody Rhodes’ promo. Later in the night, several matches including Motor City Machine Guns vs. DIY, Bianca Belair vs. Piper Niven, and the continuation of the United States title made the night engaging. Solo Sikoa also responded for the first time since his defeat in Survivor Series: WarGames match against Roman Reigns and his team. Here are the results and highlights of the December 6th episode of the blue brand.

Cody Rhodes’ Promo

Undisputed WWE Champion, Cody Rhodes addressed the crowd reflecting on Saturday Night’s Main Event and mentioning his upcoming opponent, Kevin Owens. During his promo, he was interrupted by Chad Gable and American Made.
Gable called himself Minneapolis’ greatest athlete and claimed Rhodes was a superficial friend and no longer an inspiration. Rhodes compared their past struggles, recalling his Stardust days and Gable’s Shorty G era. The heated exchange ended with Rhodes challenging Gable to a match. He also warned Gable that his focus on Owens wouldn’t bode well for him.
WWE Women’s United States Title Tournament: Naomi vs. Tiffany Stratton vs. Elektra Lopez

Elektra Lopez was a strong contender in the match and she controlled most of the action. Early in the ring, she tossed Naomi and Stratton. Later, Naomi hit a Bubba Bomb on her, but Stratton interrupted the pin. Naomi’s double springboard stunner got cheers from the crowd, but Stratton delivered a brutal double stomp on the apron. As Naomi set up her moonsault, Candice LeRae caused a distraction. Stratton seized the opportunity to win the match with the Prettiest Moonsault Ever.
Result: Tiffany Stratton with the win.
Bianca Belair vs. Piper Niven

Bianca Belair entered the ring with her injured ribs. Piper Niven dominated early in the powerhouse match. She flattened her with a low crossbody and punished Belair’s ribs with sentons and a bear hug. Belair attempted a comeback with a spear and a crossbody but Niven’s powerbomb and Backdrop Driver kept her in control. Later, Green caused a distraction but it backfired as Belair threw her into the ring. Quickly, she pulled Niven down and delivered a KOD onto Green. Finally, Belair pinned Niven for a hard-fought win.
Result: Bianca Belair defeated Piper Niven.
Shinsuke Nakamura came down to the ring

The new United States Champion Shinsuke Nakamura stood in the ring but was quickly interrupted by LA Knight who immediately demanded a rematch. Andrade came out claiming his shot at Nakamura. In the chaos-infused segment, the Outlaw Bloodline ambushed Knight and Andrade. Sikoa declared the Bloodline stronger than ever. Despite being down with two men, he dared anyone to challenge him and demanded they acknowledge his dominance.
WWE Tag Team Championship: Motor City Machin Guns (c) vs. #DIY

#DIY’s Ciampa attacked Sabin right after the bell rang. He asked Gargano to follow his aggressive lead. Sabin and Shelley worked together to overpower Ciampa but he tagged Gargano in.
There was a momentary frustration that grew as Ciampa criticized Gargano’s hesitation. Additionally, Ciampa accidentally kicked Gargano off the apron. Later, as Ciampa grabbed a chair to distract the referee, Gargano low-blowed Sabin and shocked Shelley with a superkick. The reunited #DIY sealed the win with Meet in the Middle.
Result: #DIY defeated Motor City Machin Guns to become the new WWE Tag Team Champions.

Cody Rhodes vs. Chad Gable

The headline match happened from the challenge earlier in the night dunning Rhodes’ promo. Rhodes started strong but then Nile’s distraction allowed Gable to target his leg. Gable attacked Rhodes’ ankle. The American Nightmare soon fought back with a powerslam and a Disaster Kick. Gable nearly won with the Chaos Theory and an ankle lock but Rhodes got back in the game. After a series of blows on each other, the Undisputed Champ hit a Super Cody Cutter and sealed the victory with Crossroads.
Result: Cody Rhodes with the win.
