Delta Air Lines has announced something pretty cool: they are planning to start the first ever nonstop flights between Los Angeles International Airport (called LAX) and the Philippines.
Delta says the new flights are planned to begin in March 2027.
Once the route (that’s just the path the plane takes) starts, Delta says it will be the only U.S. airline that offers nonstop service between L.A. and Manila (which is a city in the Philippines).
Important Point: After March 2027, Delta will be the one and only U.S. carrier with direct, no-stop flights from Los Angeles to Manila.
Jeff Arinder, who is Delta’s Vice President of Network Planning (he helps plan where Delta flies), said:
Delta Air Lines will launch the first nonstop flights from LAX to the Philippines in March 2027. When that happens, it will be the only U.S. airline flying nonstop between L.A. and Manila. This is part of Delta’s growth in the Asia-Pacific region and builds on its upgrades at LAX, like new lounges and more routes.
1. What does "nonstop flight" mean?
It means the plane goes from one city to another without landing anywhere in between.
2. When can I book these new flights?
Delta says the service is scheduled to begin in March 2027, so booking would likely open before then.
3. Will any other U.S. airlines fly nonstop from L.A. to Manila?
No. Delta said once it launches, it will be the only U.S. carrier with that nonstop route.
4. Why is Delta adding this route?
It’s part of their plan to grow in the Asia-Pacific region from LAX and to give customers more easy travel options.
